Whitening

Discolouration developed on teeth is a common aesthetic problem with which patients come to our doctors.

Teeth whitening treatment restores the brilliance of the teeth and produces a brighter enamel colour. When stains and discolourations are removed from the surface of the teeth, the smile immediately becomes whiter.

At the dental practice, patients can choose their whitening method. We know that the decision can be difficult, and we are happy to answer all questions related to the effects after whitening, unwanted side effects and what to do to maintain a long-lasting whitening effect.

The effect of teeth whiter by several shades....

The effect of teeth whiter by several shades can be achieved in a single visit to the dentist's office. The teeth whitening procedure reduces discolouration related to diet or medication. It is worth remembering that whitening lightens natural teeth.

When asked which whitening treatment to choose, our dentists and hygienists agree: the best and tailored to the needs of the patient's teeth who comes to us for a whitening treatment.

In the offices of Stomatologia Wichlińscy, we offer whitening by office and home methods, i.e. overlay whitening.

What these methods consist of
and what effects do they have?

Patients describe it as a method that gives an immediate effect after the first visit. Teeth whitening with the use of the Beyond system makes it possible to achieve an average brightening of colour of up to 8 shades. The whitening procedure consists in the application of a whitening gel to the teeth; its effect is activated by a cold light emitted by the Beyond lamp. The treatment removes strong discolouration present on the surface of the teeth. It lasts more than an hour and does not need to be repeated on a subsequent visit. Teeth whitening with the Beyond method is safe, however, some patients may experience gum hypersensitivity during whitening.
The Prevdent teeth whitening system strengthens the enamel. During the treatment, a foam preparation is applied and exposed to a lamp. The method is safe because the Prevdent foam contains nano-hydroxyapatite, the main component of enamel. The Prevdent method is recommended for patients experiencing pain when eating cold and hot meals. The whitening treatment is a one-time procedure and lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Teeth whitening with the overlay method, or home whitening, is a gradual process of lightening discolouration.
The first visit to the dentist's office involves taking traditional or digital impressions, which will be used to prepare individual trays. During the second visit, the patient receives ready-made trays from the laboratory and gel for self-application. Patients who choose overlay teeth whitening fill the trays with whitening gel, place them on their teeth and wear them for several hours. The whitening process takes approximately two weeks. The whitening gel has a gentle effect and therefore carries a low risk of sensitivity.
